Venezuela Earthquake: Rescuers Intensify Search Amid 'War Zone' Devastation in La Guaira

A week after twin earthquakes ravaged Venezuela's northern coast, particularly devastating the state of La Guaira, rescue operations are intensifying. Thousands of local volunteers, supported by international teams, are desperately searching for survivors amidst widespread destruction likened to a 'war zone.' The sheer scale of the disaster has prompted a significant national and international humanitarian response. Among those assisting is Israel Rivas, a 24-year-old mechanic from San Félix, who diverted funds for a camera lens to travel 12 hours to La Guaira. Driven by the suffering of his compatriots, Rivas is contributing everything he can to the ongoing relief efforts.
