WhatsApp Introduces Usernames for Enhanced User Privacy

WhatsApp is set to launch a new feature that allows users to connect via unique usernames instead of phone numbers, significantly boosting user privacy. This update enables individuals to interact and add contacts without the obligation of sharing their personal mobile number, offering a more secure and private method of communication. Marking a major shift for the platform, which has traditionally relied solely on phone numbers for identification, this change grants users greater control over their personal data. It particularly benefits those who frequently add new contacts but prefer to keep their phone numbers confidential from casual acquaintances.
