Victoria Song’s Verge Optimizer: Why My Therapist Wants Me to Ditch the Amazon Bee Frontier

In the latest Verge Optimizer newsletter, senior reviewer Victoria Song explores the Amazon Bee Frontier, a smart home device that has become a source of frustration. Song, who often discusses wellness and tech in her column, reveals that her therapist has suggested she ‘chuck it out a window’ due to the stress it causes. Song’s candid take highlights a growing sentiment: not every smart device is worth the mental load. As tech reviewers increasingly weigh mental health impacts, the takeaway is clear: sometimes the best upgrade is unplugging.
