EasySMX S10 Lite Review: A Switch 2 Controller with a Weird Removable Faceplate

The EasySMX S10 Lite is a budget-friendly controller designed for the Nintendo Switch 2, but its most distinctive feature is a removable faceplate that raises eyebrows. The faceplate is held on by magnets and can be swapped for different designs, but the execution feels gimmicky rather than practical. It’s a fidget toy more than a functional customization option, and the comparison to Elizabeth Holmes’ pedantry suggests the marketing overstates the feature’s usefulness. For gamers who prioritize comfort and performance, this could be a distraction from the controller’s core qualities. EasySMX has built a reputation for affordable accessories, but this design choice may polarize buyers. The S10 Lite competes in a crowded market of third-party Switch controllers, where reliability and ergonomics usually win. If the faceplate adds cost without adding value, it could hurt the controller’s appeal. Ultimately, the S10 Lite may find a niche among users who enjoy tinkering, but most players will likely prefer a more conventional design. The removable faceplate is a novelty that doesn’t elevate the gaming experience.
