Apple iOS 27.2 Adds Apple Pencil Support to iPhone Duo, Plus New Edge Light Feature

Apple has rolled out iOS 27.2, a significant update for the iPhone Duo that introduces Apple Pencil compatibility. The move fulfills Apple's earlier promise to bring stylus support to the device "later this year." The update also adds an "Edge Light" feature, designed to brighten users' faces during video calls by using the screen's edge as a soft light source. While Apple has not detailed which Apple Pencil models are supported, the addition positions the iPhone Duo as a more versatile tool for note-taking, sketching, and productivity. The timing aligns with Apple's broader push to unify its device ecosystem, making the Pencil a cross-device accessory. For iPhone Duo owners, iOS 27.2 delivers a notable hardware-software integration that could boost the phone's appeal among creatives and professionals. The Edge Light feature, meanwhile, addresses a common pain point in low-light video calling. As Apple continues to blur the lines between iPhone and iPad capabilities, the iPhone Duo inches closer to becoming a true all-in-one device for work and play.
