Anduril and Qualcomm Team Up on BlueChip Laptops, Aiming for American-Made Tech by 2027

Defense tech firm Anduril, founded by Palmer Luckey, is partnering with chip giant Qualcomm to launch a new line of laptops called BlueChip, with the first ruggedized prototype expected in early 2027. The devices will run on Qualcomm’s Arm-based Snapdragon X series processors and are initially targeted at the US military. The collaboration’s broader goal is to eventually manufacture the laptops entirely in the United States, a move that addresses growing concerns over supply chain security and reliance on foreign production. While the first models may not be fully American-made, the partnership signals a strategic push toward domestic high-tech manufacturing. Anduril, known for its AI-powered defense systems, is expanding into hardware that could reshape both military and commercial computing. For Qualcomm, the venture opens a new market for its Snapdragon chips beyond consumer devices. The BlueChip line could set a precedent for secure, US-built electronics in an era of geopolitical tension. If successful, this initiative may accelerate reshoring of tech manufacturing and redefine standards for trusted devices in defense and beyond.
