Amazon Unveils Echo Time Alarm Clock, Alexa Photo Frame, and More at 2025 Event

Amazon expanded its Echo lineup today with several new smart home devices, headlined by the Echo Time, a smart alarm clock, and the Alexa Photo Frame, a digital photo display. The announcement also included upgrades to existing Echo speakers and Echo Show smart displays, signaling Amazon's continued push to embed Alexa deeper into everyday home routines. The Echo Time is Amazon's first dedicated smart alarm clock, designed for the bedside with a compact form factor and Alexa built-in. It allows users to set alarms, control smart home devices, and get weather and traffic updates via voice. The Alexa Photo Frame, meanwhile, brings a new form factor to the Echo Show family, focusing on displaying photos with Alexa capabilities for ambient information and smart home control. Alongside these new devices, Amazon refreshed its core Echo speaker and Echo Show lines with improved audio quality, faster processors, and new color options. The company emphasized enhanced privacy controls and more natural Alexa conversations across all new devices. These updates come as Amazon faces increasing competition from Google and Apple in the smart home space. Amazon has not yet announced pricing or exact release dates for the Echo Time and Alexa Photo Frame, but says they will be available later this year. The expansion shows Amazon's strategy to make Alexa ubiquitous in the home, moving beyond traditional speakers to specialized devices for different rooms and use cases.
