Simon Harmer Urges England to Recall Jack Leach for South Africa Test Tour, Warns Spinners Are 'Isolated'

South African spinner Simon Harmer has called on England to include Jack Leach in their Test squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa, arguing that the Somerset left-armer remains the country's best spin option. Harmer, who has experience in English county cricket with Essex, believes Leach's control and ability to hold an end would be valuable on South African pitches. He also warned that English spinners are being 'isolated' due to a lack of specialist spin coaches in county cricket, which hampers their development. Harmer's comments highlight a broader concern about the structure of spin bowling in England, where young spinners often struggle for opportunities and guidance. With the tour set to begin in December, England's selection decisions will be closely watched, especially given their recent struggles against quality spin. Harmer's endorsement of Leach adds weight to the argument that experience and consistency should be prioritized over experimentation in challenging conditions.
