Sean Lynn Says Wales Not Finished Product, But WXV Global Series Shows Promise for 2029

Wales head coach Sean Lynn has tempered expectations despite encouraging signs in the recent WXV Global Series, stating that the team is still a work in progress. Lynn, who took charge earlier this year, pointed to growth across the tournament but stressed that consistency and depth remain key areas for development. The series, which featured emerging rugby nations, allowed Wales to test combinations and build towards the next Rugby World Cup cycle. With a clear focus on 2029, Lynn believes the foundations are being laid for long-term success. The coach highlighted the importance of competitive fixtures in accelerating player development and team cohesion. Wales will now look to build on this experience in upcoming internationals, with an eye on closing the gap to the world's top sides. The road to 2029 is long, but Lynn's vision is taking shape.
