Seamus Power to Face Austin Smotherman in Monday Playoff at Weather-Hit Butterfield Bermuda Championship

Ireland's Seamus Power will battle Austin Smotherman in a sudden-death playoff on Monday after the final round of the PGA Tour's Butterfield Bermuda Championship was abandoned due to severe weather. The pair finished tied at the top of the leaderboard when play was halted at Port Royal Golf Course, forcing officials to scrap the closing round and send the tournament to an extra session. Power, seeking his third PGA Tour title, and Smotherman, chasing his first, will return to the course with the championship on the line. The decision to cancel the final round came after relentless wind and rain made conditions unplayable, marking a rare Monday finish for the event. For Power, a victory would cap a strong season and boost his FedEx Cup standing, while Smotherman aims to break through after several close calls. The playoff is set to begin at 8 a.m. local time, with both players eager to seize the moment. Whoever handles the lingering gusts and pressure best will walk away with the trophy.
