Oscar Bobb’s magic revives Alvaro Arbeloa’s Coventry as Fulham escape CBS Arena with FA Cup win

Coventry City came agonizingly close to a famous FA Cup upset at the CBS Arena, but a moment of individual brilliance from Oscar Bobb rescued Fulham and kept their cup hopes alive. The young midfielder’s stunning strike cancelled out Coventry’s early lead, securing a 1-1 draw and a replay at Craven Cottage. For Coventry boss Alvaro Arbeloa, recently under intense pressure and even labeled a ‘dead man strutting’ by critics, the performance offered a lifeline and a reminder of his side’s fighting spirit. Despite dominating large spells and creating several clear chances, Coventry lacked the cutting edge needed to kill off Premier League opposition. Their inability to convert possession into goals proved costly, as Bobb’s moment of magic punished their wastefulness. The result leaves Arbeloa with renewed hope, but also a nagging question: can his team find the clinical finishing required to compete at the highest level? With the replay looming, Coventry must sharpen their attack if they are to complete the job and keep their cup dream alive.
