Man United Next Manager: Why Carlo Ancelotti, Not Eddie Howe or Nagelsmann, Is the Answer

Manchester United's latest collapse has reignited the debate over who should take over at Old Trafford, with Harry Maguire's post-match comments underscoring a club trapped in a cycle of failure. While names like Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann are floated, the real solution may be Carlo Ancelotti—a manager with unmatched clout, class, and a trophy-laden CV. Ancelotti, currently at Real Madrid, has won league titles in five countries and four Champions Leagues, a track record that dwarfs the candidates typically linked to United. His calm authority and tactical pragmatism could be exactly what a fractured dressing room and impatient fanbase need. United have tried promising up-and-comers and system coaches, but neither has delivered sustained success; Ancelotti offers the gravitas to command respect from day one. The Italian is not just a winner—he is the godfather of modern management, adept at managing egos and navigating boardroom politics. If United are serious about breaking their failure loop, they must look beyond the usual shortlist. The next appointment must be a statement of intent, and no one makes a bigger statement than Ancelotti.
