Irish FA Submits Planning Application for New State-of-the-Art National Football Centre

The Irish Football Association (IFA) has taken a significant step towards realizing its long-term vision by formally submitting a planning application for a new National Football Centre. The proposed facility, set to be developed on a 50-acre site at Galgorm, near Ballymena, is designed to be a hub of footballing excellence. Plans include a full-sized floodlit pitch, multiple training pitches, an indoor training facility, and an education and administration building. This development aims to significantly enhance player development across all age groups, from grassroots to elite levels, and improve coaching education through integrated learning environments. The centre is also intended to provide benefits to the local community and economy. The planning submission follows years of strategic planning and fundraising, marking a crucial milestone in the project's progression. While approval and construction will take time, this application signifies a tangible commitment to investing in the future of football in Northern Ireland.
