England Women Ready for Must-Win Samoa Clash After 78-0 Australia Defeat

England head coach Stuart Barrow says his squad remains upbeat about reaching the Women's Rugby League World Cup semi-finals, despite a humbling 78-0 defeat to Australia on Saturday. The loss leaves England needing a win against Samoa to keep their knockout hopes alive. Barrow admitted his team was 'blown away' by the Jillaroos, but stressed the players are determined to bounce back. 'People don't want to go home,' he said, underlining the squad's hunger to extend their tournament. The match against Samoa is now effectively a quarter-final, with England needing victory to progress. Barrow is expected to make changes after the heavy defeat, with focus on tightening defence and improving field position. Samoa, who pushed New Zealand close earlier in the tournament, will provide a stern test. England's World Cup campaign hangs in the balance, but the coach believes the group has the character to respond. A win would set up a likely semi-final against New Zealand or Papua New Guinea.
