Derek McInnes urges Rangers improvement after Premier Sports Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen

Rangers manager Derek McInnes guided his side to the Premier Sports Cup final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Aberdeen, but he insists there is still plenty of work to be done. The win at Hampden Park keeps Rangers on course for silverware, yet McInnes was quick to demand higher standards from his players. 'We got the job done, but we need to be better,' he said after the match. The result extends Rangers' impressive run of form under McInnes, who has revitalised the team since taking charge. Aberdeen pushed hard for an equaliser, but Rangers' defence held firm to secure a place in the final. The Ibrox club will now face either Celtic or St Johnstone in the showpiece event. For McInnes, the focus immediately shifts to improving performances as Rangers chase multiple trophies this season. 'This is just one step,' he added. 'We have to keep pushing.' With the final on the horizon, Rangers will need to raise their game if they are to lift the cup.
