Carlisle boss Rob Elliot hails 'incredible' nine-man win over Harrogate in League Two

Carlisle United manager Rob Elliot praised his side's resilience after they beat Harrogate Town 3-0 despite playing with nine men for a large part of the League Two match. Harrogate boss Simon Weaver admitted he was 'embarrassed' by his team's failure to capitalise on the numerical advantage. The result lifts Carlisle's spirits in their battle for league position, while Harrogate are left to rue a missed opportunity. Elliot called the performance 'incredible' and highlighted the character shown by his players. The match saw Carlisle score three goals without reply, with the Cumbrians defending resolutely after two red cards. Weaver's blunt assessment reflects the frustration of a side that could not break down a depleted opponent. Carlisle's ability to secure all three points under such circumstances will boost their confidence for upcoming fixtures. It was a day to forget for Harrogate, who must regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the table.
