Sir Ian McKellen Praises Johnny Depp's Scrooge in Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at Ti West's Ebenezer

ScreenRant has unveiled an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from Ti West's upcoming film Ebenezer, featuring Sir Ian McKellen offering high praise for Johnny Depp's portrayal of the iconic miser Ebenezer Scrooge. In the footage, McKellen, a legendary actor in his own right, expresses admiration for Depp's transformative performance, highlighting the depth and nuance he brings to the classic Charles Dickens character. The clip offers a rare glimpse into the creative process behind the anticipated reimagining, which pairs West's distinctive directorial style with Depp's chameleonic acting. McKellen's endorsement carries significant weight, given his own acclaimed work in literary adaptations, and signals that Depp's Scrooge may be a defining role in the actor's late-career resurgence. The collaboration between West, known for his horror-infused aesthetic, and Depp suggests a darker, more psychological take on the timeless holiday tale. As audiences await the film's release, this behind-the-scenes moment underscores the high expectations surrounding the project and its potential to breathe new life into a familiar story. With McKellen's seal of approval, Depp's Ebenezer Scrooge is poised to become a memorable addition to the pantheon of Dickensian performances.
