Ridley Scott's 2023 Historical Epic 'Napoleon' Now Streaming Free on Tubi

Ridley Scott's 2023 historical epic Napoleon, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine, is now available to stream for free on Tubi in the United States. The film, which grossed over $221 million worldwide against a reported budget of $130–200 million, underperformed at the box office despite Scott's pedigree and Phoenix's star power. Napoleon explores the ruler's rise and fall through the lens of his volatile relationship with Joséphine, featuring large-scale battle sequences including Austerlitz and Waterloo. While it received mixed reviews and was considered a commercial disappointment, its arrival on a free ad-supported platform gives audiences a chance to reassess the ambitious biopic. Scott, known for Blade Runner, Gladiator, and Alien, has defended the film's historical liberties, and a director's cut is reportedly in the works. For fans of sweeping historical dramas, Napoleon offers a visually stunning, if divisive, portrait of a complex figure—now accessible without a subscription.
