Netflix Adds Cult Classic Police Squad! The 6-Episode Comedy Gem Starring Leslie Nielsen

Netflix has added Police Squad!, the legendary 1982 TV series from the creators of Airplane!, to its streaming library. Starring Leslie Nielsen as the deadpan Detective Frank Drebin, the show ran for only six episodes on ABC before being canceled—yet it became a cult classic and later inspired The Naked Gun film franchise. For comedy fans, this is a rare chance to stream the series that pioneered the rapid-fire sight gag and wordplay style. The show's absurd humor and Nielsen's straight-faced delivery influenced a generation of spoof comedies. While short-lived, its legacy looms large, and its availability on Netflix could introduce the series to a new audience. Don't miss the chance to see where the iconic bumbling detective began.
