Lee Child Ends 29-Year Run on Jack Reacher Novels, Hands Series to New Author

After nearly three decades, Lee Child has officially stepped away from writing the Jack Reacher novel series. The announcement confirms a major transition for the blockbuster franchise, which has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and spawned a hit Amazon Prime series. Child created the iconic ex-military drifter in 1997's 'Killing Floor' and has written 28 novels, with the latest, 'The Secret,' released in 2023. The author has been gradually handing over the reins to his brother, Andrew Child, since 2020, and this marks the complete transfer of the series. Fans can expect the same high-octane action and sharp plotting, but with a fresh voice at the helm. The next Reacher novel is slated for release in late 2025. This move ensures the franchise will continue to thrive for years to come.
