CBS Vampire Sitcom 'Eternally Yours' Blends 'Twilight' Romance with 'Blade' Action, Star Parker Young Teases Jesse's Evolution

CBS is sinking its teeth into the vampire genre with 'Eternally Yours,' a new sitcom that creator Joe Wiseman says draws inspiration from both the romantic allure of 'Twilight' and the gritty action of 'Blade.' Star Parker Young, who plays vampire Jesse, revealed his hopes for the character to channel Blade's fierce, heroic edge as the series unfolds. The show centers on an immortal vampire navigating modern life and love, promising a unique blend of comedy, romance, and supernatural thrills. Wiseman emphasized the show's flexible vampire lore, allowing for creative storytelling that can shift between heartfelt moments and high-stakes drama. With a built-in fanbase for vampire fiction, 'Eternally Yours' aims to stand out by not taking itself too seriously while still delivering the genre's beloved tropes. Young's enthusiasm for a more action-oriented Jesse hints at potential character growth that could satisfy viewers craving both swoon-worthy and stakes-driven plots. As CBS expands its comedy lineup, this show could become a fresh, bite-sized hit for audiences seeking a lighter take on the undead.
