Aegon's Conquest Film Could Redeem Game of Thrones' Divisive Ending 10 Years Later

A decade after Game of Thrones concluded with widespread fan disappointment, a new film centered on Aegon's Conquest offers a chance to repair the franchise's legacy. The project revisits the legendary Targaryen conquest of Westeros, a foundational event that shaped the world of the original series. By exploring Aegon Targaryen's unification of the Seven Kingdoms, the film could provide the narrative depth and closure that many felt was missing from the show's final season. This prequel has the potential to reframe the lore, address lingering questions, and restore faith among the global fanbase. If executed well, it may finally give audiences the satisfying conclusion they've been waiting for since 2019.
