Absolute Batman Reinvents Joker After 86 Years with Nightmarish New Origin

Scott Snyder redefines the Joker in DC's Absolute Batman, giving the iconic villain a terrifying new origin that ties him directly to Bruce Wayne's past. The story introduces a Joker who is not just a criminal mastermind but a dark reflection of Batman's own trauma, with a design and backstory that push the character into unprecedented horror territory. This reinvention matters because it challenges decades of established lore, offering readers a fresh but deeply unsettling take on the Clown Prince of Crime. By grounding the Joker's madness in a shared history with Batman, Snyder raises the personal stakes and forces Bruce Wayne to confront a monster of his own making. As the Absolute Universe continues to unfold, fans can expect more radical reinterpretations of classic characters, but few will be as chilling as this new Joker.
