8 Best Network Procedurals on TV Right Now: From Law & Order: SVU to High Potential

Network procedurals remain a cornerstone of television, offering reliable case-of-the-week storytelling with enduring characters. Leading the pack is the long-running Law & Order: SVU, now in its 26th season, with Mariska Hargitay's Captain Olivia Benson continuing to anchor the series. Also making waves is High Potential, starring Kaitlin Olson as a single mom with a brilliant mind who helps the LAPD solve crimes, a recent addition that has quickly become a fan favorite. Other standouts include the Chicago franchise, FBI, and The Equalizer, each blending action, drama, and investigative twists. These shows matter because they deliver consistent ratings for networks and provide viewers with accessible, self-contained stories that can be enjoyed week after week. As streaming changes viewing habits, network procedurals prove that appointment television is still alive. The future looks bright for the genre, with new twists and diverse leads keeping the format fresh.
