WoW: Forever Racial Ability Overhaul Hits Humans, Tauren, Orcs, Dwarves, and Skyborne Elves Before Launch

Blizzard is making last-minute balance changes to racial abilities in World of Warcraft: Forever, just over a week before the November 4 launch. Community manager Kaivax detailed the adjustments in a forum post, responding to beta feedback that some racials felt too generic or overpowered. The changes affect five races: humans, tauren, orcs, dwarves, and the new Skyborne elves. Humans see their Ruthless crit chance halved to 1%, but their Human Spirit passive doubles to 10% for better versatility. Tauren gain a massive buff to Plainsrunning, now stacking up to 60% movement speed, but lose mounted speed and combat bonuses from Endurance. Orcs trade their 1% crit for the return of Command, boosting Warlock and Hunter pet damage by 5%. Dwarves swap crit damage for a 1% hit chance. Skyborne elves have their haste bonus reduced to 2% but gain stronger, persistent effects from leyline sites. Blizzard says it prioritized racial identity over perfect balance, but removed weapon specializations to avoid forcing specific weapon types in raid loot. These changes aim to keep player choice meaningful without making any race mandatory for high-end content.
