World of Warcraft: Forever Adds Full Controller Support as Blizzard Eyes Playability on 'Whatever You Want'

World of Warcraft: Forever, launching November 4, will include full controller support—a first for Blizzard's long-running PC MMORPG. Executive producer Holly Longdale told GamesRadar that this is the 'first leg of a journey' to make WoW playable 'wherever you want, and, at some point, on whatever you want.' The new controller support, tested at BlizzCon 2026, offers 28 keybinds and works seamlessly without addons like ConsolePort, making it viable for handhelds like the ROG Ally X. Longdale referenced Xbox's rumored next console, Project Helix, suggesting future platforms may be more ubiquitous. Project Helix is reportedly a hybrid PC/console device targeting a 2028 release with a possible $1,200–$1,800 price tag. Blizzard remains focused on Forever's launch, including reworked racial abilities and layering improvements. Controller support marks a significant step toward WoW's expansion beyond traditional PC gaming.
