Queen's Domain Is a Brilliant King's Field Homage and One of 2025's Best Games

Developer Freshly Baked Games' Queen's Domain is an explicit homage to King's Field, the dormant FromSoftware series that laid groundwork for Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. Even without prior King's Field experience, the first-person retro-fantasy action RPG impresses within five hours. Its deliberate pacing, atmospheric exploration, and unforgiving combat evoke the spirit of early FromSoftware while standing on its own. For fans of challenging RPGs and gaming history, Queen's Domain offers a rare glimpse into the genre's roots—and a compelling reason to revisit a forgotten classic.
