Pokemon Unite Shutting Down in 2027: Final Aeos Crown in Tokyo, Sales Halted Now

The Pokemon Company and TiMi Studio Group have announced that Pokemon Unite will go offline on March 23, 2027. The free-to-play MOBA, which launched in 2021 for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, will host its last official tournament, the Aeos Crown 2027, in Tokyo on March 21, 2027. In-game purchases have been suspended immediately, meaning players can no longer buy Aeos gems or other premium currency. This decision marks the end of a five-year run that attracted millions of players worldwide. While the game will remain playable until the shutdown date, no new content updates are expected. The closure reflects the competitive lifecycle of live-service games, where player engagement and revenue decline over time. Fans of the franchise can still enjoy other Pokemon titles, but for Unite loyalists, the countdown to the final match has begun.
