Phantom Blade Zero Launches to 723K Steam Players, $43M Preorder Revenue

Phantom Blade Zero, the highly anticipated action game from S-Game, has made an explosive debut on PC, peaking at 723,876 concurrent players on Steam within hours of launch. The game had already sold an estimated 1 million units before release, generating $43 million in revenue, according to Alinea Analytics' Rhys Elliott. Preorder sales were heavily driven by China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, which accounted for 62.5% of units sold, with 75.9% of Steam copies and 24.9% of PS5 copies coming from these markets. Creative director Soulframe Liang thanked fans and his team, calling the game 'a gift from a small group of gamers who just happen to be developers.' While the game is unlikely to match Black Myth: Wukong's 10 million sales in three days, it has secured a top 40 revenue spot for 2026. With Donnie Yen-choreographed combat and a Chinese folklore setting, Phantom Blade Zero is poised to be a major hit.
