Nintendo Reveals Ocarina of Time Remake Is Led by Main Zelda Team, Not Grezzo or Monolith Soft

Nintendo's new 'Ask the Developer' feature has finally answered a burning fan question: the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is being led by Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 3, the internal team behind mainline Zelda games. The interview includes longtime series producer Eiji Aonuma and other EPD No. 3 members, confirming that the core Zelda developers are at the helm. This rules out fan theories that external studios like Grezzo, which handled the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, or Monolith Soft, known for support work on Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom, were leading development. While neither Grezzo nor Monolith Soft is mentioned in the first two parts of the feature, they could still provide support, with the full credits to be seen when the game launches on November 5. For now, fans can rest assured that the remake is in the hands of series veterans, underscoring Nintendo's commitment to quality for this beloved classic on Switch 2.
