Nintendo Indie World Showcase Highlights: Winds of Viridia, City of None, Threads of Time Lead Packed 15-Minute Presentation

Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase may have lasted just over 15 minutes, but it packed in several standout reveals for Switch and Switch 2. The show opened with the Witchbrook release date announcement, followed by Winds of Viridia, an action-adventure from Shark Jump that channels The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Its hero teams up with a lethal mothbug, and the game features music by Hollow Knight: Silksong composer Christopher Larkin. A demo is available now on Switch 2, with a full release planned for early next year. City of None, an action-puzzle platformer from Celeste co-creator Noel Berry and his brother Liam, impressed with its retro pixel art and changing four-color palette. It’s set for Switch and Switch 2 in 2027. Rounding out the highlights is Threads of Time, a JRPG from Balor Games and Riyo Games that evokes Chrono Trigger with time travel to the Middle Ages and a cyberpunk future. It’s targeting a Summer 2027 launch. Other notable reveals included Tenjutsu, a roguelike brawler from a Dead Cells developer, and a popular Steam golf game coming to Switch 2. For indie fans, this showcase proved that short can still be sweet.
