GTA 6 File Size Revealed: 210GB for PS5 Standard Edition, Among Largest Games Ever

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 6 will require 210GB of storage on PS5 for the $80 standard edition, according to PlayStation Game Size. That is double the size of Red Dead Redemption 2 and places GTA 6 among the largest games ever by file size. The $100 Ultimate Edition's size was not disclosed, and Xbox Series X|S figures are likely similar. Preloading begins November 12, ahead of the November 19 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The massive size reflects the game's map, reportedly three times larger than Red Dead Redemption 2's, and its extreme detail. With 25 million preorders projected and $2 billion in revenue expected, GTA 6 is poised to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Players may need to clear space on their consoles to accommodate the install. A PC version is expected in early 2027, and a new GTA Online is likely to follow.
