EA Brings Every Ultima and Wing Commander Game to Steam and GOG with Quality-of-Life Updates

Electronic Arts is releasing 25 classic PC games on Steam today, spanning beloved franchises like Ultima, Wing Commander, Crusader, Strike Commander, Road Rash, and Theme Hospital. The drop includes 18 standard re-releases priced at $4.99 each, plus seven Anniversary Editions at $9.99 that add quality-of-life improvements to six Wing Commander titles and Road Rash. This marks a major preservation win for retro gaming fans, as many of these titles—especially the full Ultima RPG series and both Crusader action games—have been difficult to purchase legally for years. By bringing them to Steam, EA is making these influential classics more accessible to both nostalgic players and new audiences discovering them for the first time. The Anniversary Editions sweeten the deal with modern conveniences, though EA has not yet detailed the exact updates. For collectors and genre historians, this is a rare chance to own foundational RPGs and space sims in one place. Expect more classic catalog drops if this proves successful.
