Donald Glover to Star, Write, and Direct Live-Action PUBG Series for Netflix

Netflix and Krafton are teaming up for a live-action TV adaptation of the battle royale phenomenon PUBG, with multi-hyphenate Donald Glover attached to star, write, direct, and executive produce. His brother Stephen Glover will co-write and executive produce. The announcement, made by Krafton, signals early development for the project, which adds to the PUBG universe expansion that includes an upcoming animated series from Castlevania producer Adi Shankar. Glover, known for Atlanta and his music as Childish Gambino, is no stranger to gaming tie-ins, having voiced Yoshi in this year's Super Mario Galaxy Movie and partnered with Ubisoft on a Far Cry 4 trailer. PUBG remains a juggernaut in gaming, with over 785,000 peak concurrent players on Steam alone, underscoring its cultural reach. As Krafton pushes PUBG beyond its roots as a connected universe, this high-profile Netflix series could introduce the last-player-standing drama to an even broader audience, blending Glover's creative pedigree with one of gaming's most enduring franchises.
