DC Studios Confirms Ongoing Talks With Reacher Star Alan Ritchson for DCU Role

DC Studios has confirmed that it remains in active talks with Alan Ritchson, best known for his lead role in Prime Video's hit series Reacher, about a potential part in the new DC Universe. While no official casting has been announced, the studio's acknowledgment signals genuine interest in bringing the physically imposing actor into the superhero fold. Ritchson, who has previously portrayed Aquaman in Smallville and voiced Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has long been a fan-favorite choice for roles like Batman or Shazam. The ongoing discussions come as DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran continue to build out their interconnected slate, with upcoming projects including Superman, The Brave and the Bold, and Lanterns. Securing a star of Ritchson's rising profile could add significant drawing power to the new DCU, especially following the success of Reacher's second season. For now, fans will have to wait and see which iconic character Ritchson might ultimately bring to life.
