SNL Weekend Update Takes on Israel, Trump’s Butt Comments, and JD Vance’s Jealousy in Halloween Episode

Saturday Night Live’s Halloween edition of Weekend Update finally addressed the escalating conflict in Israel, using the platform’s signature satirical lens. Anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che delivered pointed jokes about the geopolitical crisis, marking a notable shift as the show had previously avoided the topic in recent weeks. The segment also featured a cameo from Ben Marshall’s Pennywise, adding a spooky twist to the news parody. The episode didn’t shy away from domestic politics either, taking aim at President Donald Trump’s recent fixation on candidates’ physical appearances. Jost highlighted the absurdity by noting that even Vice President JD Vance expressed jealousy over Trump never complimenting his butt. The joke underscored the strange turn in political discourse, blending humor with criticism of the administration’s priorities. By weaving together international news and political satire, SNL demonstrated its ability to tackle serious subjects while keeping the audience laughing. The inclusion of Israel in Weekend Update signals the show’s willingness to engage with complex global issues, even as it pokes fun at the lighter side of politics. As the 2024 election season heats up, viewers can expect more sharp commentary from the late-night staple.
