SAG-AFTRA Members Ratify TV Animation Contracts with 12.6% Wage Increase and AI Protections

SAG-AFTRA members have overwhelmingly ratified the 2026 Television Animation Agreement and Basic Cable Animation Agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), with 94.95% voting in favor. The new four-year contracts secure a 12.6% wage increase over the term, along with enhanced protections around artificial intelligence—a key concern for voice actors facing the rise of synthetic voices. The agreements cover performers working on animated television programs and basic cable productions, setting industry standards for compensation and working conditions. The ratification reflects strong member support for the negotiated terms, which address both economic and technological challenges in the animation sector. As AI continues to reshape entertainment, these contracts provide a framework for protecting performers' rights and livelihoods in an evolving media landscape.
