Riley Voelkel and Shiva Negar to Voice Adult Animated Comedy ‘Above Average’ from Red Pants Productions and JVH Media

Riley Voelkel and Shiva Negar are set to lead the voice cast of Above Average, an adult animated comedy series in late-stage development. The project hails from creators Andrew Deutsch and Cailin Walker-Bent at Canadian animation collective Red Pants Productions, alongside Josh Harris at UK-based JVH Media. Voelkel is known for her roles in The Originals and Roswell, New Mexico, while Negar has appeared in The Old Man and Tehran. The series is described as irreverent and promises a fresh take on the genre, blending sharp humor with bold storytelling. With the adult animation space continuing to grow—driven by hits like Big Mouth and Rick and Morty—Above Average aims to stand out through its distinctive creative team and voice talent. As the show moves toward a full series order, it could become a notable player in the streaming landscape, appealing to audiences seeking edgy, character-driven comedy.
