Hulu Dominates at 2026 CrimeCon Clue Awards as 'Only Murders in the Building' and Docuseries Take Top Honors

The 2026 CrimeCon Clue Awards concluded on Saturday, marking a major milestone for the true crime entertainment industry. Hulu emerged as the evening's primary victor, securing two of the most prestigious honors: Outstanding Scripted Series for the hit comedy-mystery 'Only Murders in the Building' and Outstanding Docuseries for 'Girl on the Run: The Hunt for America’s Most Wanted.' The ceremony served as an industry touchstone, highlighting a significant shift in the true crime landscape toward more ethical, investigative, and high-production-value storytelling. Veterans such as '48 Hours' were also honored, reinforcing the critical role of traditional long-form journalism alongside newer streaming hits. This year's event underscored the ongoing maturation of the genre, where creators are increasingly tasked with balancing entertainment value with the heavy responsibility of covering real-life tragedies. As the genre continues to evolve, the industry is increasingly favoring projects that offer advocacy and substantive insights into the justice system, setting a new benchmark for upcoming streaming productions.
