MGM+ Crime Thriller ‘Rules of Prey’ Adds Peter Outerbridge, Cody Ray Thompson, David Klein to Cast

MGM+’s upcoming crime thriller series Rules of Prey has finalized its main cast, adding Peter Outerbridge, Cody Ray Thompson, and David Klein as series regulars. They join previously announced leads Jensen Ackles, Lucy Fry, and Amanda Brugel. Created by Bruce Terris, the show is based on the John Sandford ‘Prey’ novel series, which follows Minneapolis detective Lucas Davenport. Outerbridge, known for Neagley and I Will Find You, Thompson from The Umbrella Academy, and Klein from Overcompensating and 56 Days, bring significant genre experience to the project. The series is produced by MGM+ Studios, with Sandford executive producing alongside Terris. This casting news matters because it signals MGM+’s continued investment in high-profile crime dramas, leveraging a bestselling book franchise and a recognizable star in Ackles to attract subscribers. The addition of seasoned Canadian actors like Outerbridge and Klein also hints at a production likely based in Canada, which could influence the show’s tone and setting. As streaming competition intensifies, Rules of Prey aims to capture fans of gritty detective stories. Expect more announcements as production ramps up.
