Matthew Weiner Exits Eddie Murphy Peacock Series ‘The Chairman’ as Showrunner

Matthew Weiner, the creator of 'Mad Men,' has stepped down as showrunner, writer, and executive producer of 'The Chairman,' an upcoming Peacock drama starring Eddie Murphy. The series, produced by David Glasser's 101 Studios and Universal Television, is now seeking a new showrunner. The project remains in development at Peacock, and Murphy is still attached to star. The departure of Weiner, known for his meticulous storytelling, could impact the series' creative direction, but the star power of Murphy and the backing of major studios keep expectations high. The search for a replacement will be crucial to maintaining momentum.
