Isabela Merced & Patrick Schwarzenegger to Play Lorena and John Bobbitt in Hulu’s ‘Good American Family’ Season 2

Hulu has cast Isabela Merced and Patrick Schwarzenegger as the leads for the second installment of its true-crime anthology series Good American Family. Merced, known for The Last of Us, will portray Lorena Bobbitt, while Schwarzenegger, fresh off The White Lotus, takes on the role of John Bobbitt. The untitled limited series draws from the infamous Virginia case that gripped the nation in the 1990s, when Lorena severed her husband’s penis after years of alleged abuse. The story sparked intense media debate over domestic violence, gender roles, and the justice system. By casting two rising stars, Hulu aims to bring a new perspective to a case that remains culturally relevant today. The anthology format allows the streamer to explore different true-crime stories each season, with the first installment already generating buzz. This casting signals a continued investment in high-profile, conversation-starting content. Viewers can expect a nuanced retelling that goes beyond the tabloid headlines to examine the human cost of a toxic marriage.
