HBO’s Harry Potter Series Casts Harry Gilby as Charlie Weasley, Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn as James and Lily Potter

HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” series has announced three major castings for its first season, based on “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” Harry Gilby will play Charlie Weasley, the dragon-loving second eldest Weasley brother, marking the character’s first on-screen appearance in the franchise. Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn have been cast as James and Lily Potter, Harry’s parents, who appear in flashbacks and the Mirror of Erised scene. These roles are pivotal to establishing Harry’s backstory and the wizarding world’s history. The series, produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television, aims to be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books, with each season covering one novel. The casting of these characters, especially Charlie Weasley, who was absent from the original films, signals the show’s commitment to deeper exploration of the source material. Fans can expect a more detailed look at the Potter family legacy and the Weasley clan when the series premieres, though a release date has not yet been announced.
