Donald Glover to Star in Netflix Live-Action 'PUBG' Series Adaptation

Netflix is developing a live-action series based on Krafton's hit battle royale game PUBG, with Emmy winner Donald Glover set to star, direct, write, and executive produce alongside his brother Stephen Glover. The project also includes executive producers Michael Schaefer for Neon TV, Fam Udeorji for Gilga, and Krafton's Taeseok Jang and Sujin. PUBG, known for its 100-player last-man-standing gameplay, has sold over 75 million copies, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time. This adaptation marks a major push by Netflix to turn blockbuster gaming IP into original series, following other game-to-screen efforts. Glover's involvement brings high-profile creative talent to the project, potentially attracting both fans of the game and his own audience. As streaming competition intensifies, Netflix's investment in recognizable franchises like PUBG could help drive subscriber growth and engagement. The series' success may influence future collaborations between Hollywood and the gaming industry.
