Studio Loutsis Adds Timber Wayfinding to Snøhetta’s Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Studio Loutsis has completed an environmentally integrated wayfinding and signage system for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota, designed by Snøhetta. The system features custom typography, heavy timber pylons, and flush-mounted interior details that blend with the library’s Badlands setting. The use of timber aligns with the campus’s sustainability goals and Roosevelt’s conservation legacy. The signage guides visitors across the rugged landscape while meeting strict environmental compliance. This project highlights how wayfinding can enhance both function and narrative in a landmark cultural site.
