SOOOT Box Prototype Uses Punched Paper Cards for Distraction-Free Audio Control

A new prototype called the SOOOT Box reimagines audio control through punched paper cards, offering a tactile, screen-free alternative to smartphone apps. The device reads holes in custom cards to trigger functions like play, pause, or skip, eliminating the need to navigate notifications or menus. Designed for podcast listeners and music fans who want to focus, it harkens back to early computing while addressing modern digital overload. The prototype demonstrates how physical interfaces can reduce interruptions and make listening more intentional. As screen fatigue grows, such low-tech solutions may find a niche among users seeking simplicity and mindfulness in their daily routines.
