Chilean Studio Unveils Elevated Timber Home with Sweeping Pacific Views

Croxatto and Opazo Architects has unveiled Negrilla House, a unique 152-square-metre timber residence in Matanzas, Chile. Situated dramatically over a ravine, the home employs a distinctive, elongated pier-like timber structure extending from a road, creating a striking cantilevered effect. This design fosters a sense of lightness and deep connection to its scenic surroundings. The architecture seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces through two stacked terraces, each carefully oriented to capture and frame expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. Predominantly constructed from timber, Negrilla House exemplifies an innovative response to a challenging coastal landscape, offering residents an immersive experience of the Chilean coastline.
