Nvidia, Costco and Nike Push Back on OKX–ICE Tokenized Stock Plans as 70% of Firms Opt Out

Major U.S. companies including Nvidia, Costco, and Nike have formally objected to plans by crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to offer tokenized versions of their stocks, according to public disclosures. The pushback comes as nearly 70% of the companies initially selected for the trading program have opted out, with only 19 firms—including Apple, Tesla, and Amazon—having no disclosed objection as the 30-day response window nears its end. The tokenized stock initiative, which aims to bridge traditional equities and digital assets, has raised concerns over regulatory compliance, shareholder rights, and market integrity. Corporate issuers are worried about unauthorized use of their brand and potential legal liabilities. The high opt-out rate signals a significant challenge for the OKX–ICE venture, which must now reassess its asset list and address issuer concerns. As the deadline approaches, the remaining companies face a critical decision that could shape the future of tokenized securities in the U.S. market.
