MEXC Reports 88% Surge in AI Tokenized Stock Trading, Led by Semiconductors, Optical, Power Sectors

MEXC, a zero-fee digital asset exchange, reported an 88% month-over-month jump in trading volume for AI-related tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs in September, outpacing the 63% growth for non-AI assets. AI-linked assets made up 48% of total tokenized U.S. stock and ETF spot volume, up from 44% in August. The surge was broad-based: semiconductor and memory trading doubled, while optical communications, power equipment, and data center infrastructure each grew over 90%. Six of the top 10 most-traded tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs were AI-related, accounting for 59% of the ranking's combined volume. In futures, semiconductor and memory assets dominated, with Micron, SK hynix, and Sandisk taking the top three spots and contributing 67% of the top 10's volume. Pre-IPO futures volume rose 60%, with Moonshot AI up 115% and OpenAI up 51%. The data underscores investor appetite for AI infrastructure beyond chips, as trading expands into optical, power, and data center plays. MEXC's expansion into Taiwanese stocks and new futures pairs signals growing global retail access to tokenized equities.
