Justin Sun Prize Partners with Caltech Professor Tony Yue Yu’s MathDB on 50-Problem Pilot with $1 Million Awards

The Justin Sun Prize, founded by blockchain entrepreneur Justin Sun, has announced a pilot collaboration with MathDB, a mathematical research platform developed by Caltech Professor Tony Yue Yu and his team. The initiative aims to become the “Nobel Prize of the AI Era,” offering problem-level awards up to $1 million for solving major mathematical challenges. The pilot covers 50 problems across four award tiers, including the Riemann Hypothesis, P versus NP, and the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer Conjecture. MathDB will handle solution submissions, verify Lean formalizations, and review expository materials, while the Justin Sun Prize assesses eligibility and award terms. Rewards are split: 50% for the mathematical solution, 30% for Lean formalization, and 20% for accessible exposition, encouraging both rigorous proof and public communication. All awards are subject to AML/sanctions compliance and official rules. Professor Yu emphasizes that solving fundamental problems often yields unexpected connections and tools with cross-generational impact. This collaboration seeks to fuse human insight with machine verification, creating a decentralized, rigorous framework for future discoveries. The full problem list and terms are available on MathDB and the Justin Sun Prize website.
